Summary

The hike will begin at 110 Monument Avenue, Old Bennington, VT and we’ll walk north on Monument Ave. to West on West Rd to left on Fox Hill Rd - up through the open field to the trail head. After entering Fillmore Forest, we will follow The Halloween Trail to The Carriage Rd. heading south. As we depart the forest, prepare to step back in time as we enter onto the grounds of The Edward Hamlin Everett Estate - “Orchard House”, built between 1911-1914, and soon to be transformed into a 5 Star resort and spa with luxury amenities. From the top of the hill we’ll continue north down the driveway and back to 110 Monument Avenue where our host will provide a complimentary lunch of soup, salad, sandwiches and beverages.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring rain-gear, appropriate footwear (that can get muddy), snacks, water, and also consider bringing hiking poles and cleats/crampons if you may need them or to lend to someone who may need them. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Please check the weather the morning before the hike so you can make sure you have the right clothing & equipment if conditions change.

REACHING US DAY OF HIKE: If you have trouble finding us, will be late, or can't make it, please call/text John R. at 610-733-4157 or Mitch at 413-717-7816
