Trip Report/Photos from Twigs
As most people were hunkering down on this past weekend snow storm, I was getting excited as I was gearing up to go test out my new (to me) snow shoes. Out in the townsend, Massachusetts area we got between 14 and 18 inches of fluffy snow! Perfect for test out the snow shoes, as I knew I was going to fall at least once. As I made my way across my yard and down my drive way I thought to me self I got this, the roads not even plowed yet, I'll just walk across... no sooner do I think that and a massive front end loaded plow clears the road clean. Well walking on a slushy road in snow shoes not hard thing ever, but I'm sure I didn't look pleasant doing so. As I crossed the road and made my way down to the trail I had crossed a small foot bridge. There came my 2nd obstacle. A snow covered branch. I thought well ill take my new fancy hiking pole shake the branch, the snow will fall, and I'll keep on going. Nope I was wrong again. I poked the branch, the snow fell, the branch smacks my face, pushes me back (at this point I learn you can't walk backwards in snow shoes) I fall backwards into the snow. Looking up I have 1 foot sticking str8 up and the other going sideways. So I make a nice snow angel in the middle of the trail. That should confuse the next person. After I get my self off the ground, I keep tracking on, to where the trail get very narrow, here I learn the 4th lesson. If your right foot is stepping on your left snowshoes, you can't pick up your left snowshoe and walk. Yup I made another snow angel, except this one was face down... I can wait to get back out there before the snow melt!

thanks for sharing that Jason. Reminds me of my first, second, and most recent snowshoe adventures. Snow angels... that's the spirit!
