Summary

Let me be your guide since I used to work here. This 3 mile hike will have excellent views of the glacier formed ponds of Bigellow and Mashapaug. You would have to travel to Maine to experience similar scenery. We will hike the Bigelow Pond loop and the Mashapaug Pond view trail to Rock Island, where we will have a snack break and optional swimming. Dogs on leashes are allowed. Alcohol is not allowed. Bring water, a snack, something to share, shoes for rocky terrain, bathing suit, towel, & camera. We will end around 1;00 PM with a late (optional) lunch at the unique ( food & books) Travelers Restaurant. Other groups invited to join us are Chiltern Mountain Club, CT Pride Hikers, & CT Prime Timers. Easy. Rain cancels. For more info: http://www.ct.gov./deep/bigelowhollow. No fees at this time.
